Story Parts
BackgroundStory should have a beginning, middle and ending (Shepard, 2011). BegniningConsider carefully how you will start your story - it should captivate the audience and engage them with the characters or with the scene. Consider how perspective could help achieve this.
MiddleA good story should move the storyline along and build up suspense or build an argument or build a conflict. In this way it keeps the viewer involved emotionally and cognitively with the material.
EndingAn ending should push the storyline home and give the viewer that punch line that will stay with them well after the movie is over.

PurposeBreaking up a story and thinking explicitly about the beginning, middle and end will tell the story in a more compelling and memorable way.
